Magda is the founder and Clinical Principal of Focus Counselling and Consulting Services. She is a registered clinical counsellor, psychotherapist, accredited social worker and teacher. She is currently the Secondary School Counsellor and Student Protection Officer at John Paul College in Daisy Hill, Brisbane. Her training and experience is wide-ranging. Her qualifications include a Master of Social Work Studies Degree from the University of Queensland, a Master of Counselling Degree from the University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, a Diploma in Children Services, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Magda is listed on the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ARCAP), is a registered clinical member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), an accredited social worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers, and an associate member with the Queensland Guidance and Counselling Association (QGCA). She practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics by regularly attending the required professional development and supervision. Magda upholds full registration status with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). She is a current holder of a Blue Card which has been issued by the Queensland Government that indicates that she has been screened and approved a safe person to work with children under the age of eighteen years.
Magda is passionate about counselling and psychotherapy. She has a particular interest in helping people who suffer from stress, anxiety and depression to improve their mental wellbeing and enhance their quality of life. In her private practice, she has supported people from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds with a range of mental disorders and challenges. Individual clients include children, adolescents, adults, couples and elderly people in community dwellings, residential aged care facilities, and in private and government hospitals.
All fees are for an hour long session and inclusive of GST. The standard fee for an individual client is $100.00. Concessions are available for students, pensioners and low income earners who are able to show proof of student cards, pension or health care cards.
SKYPE Online Counselling
Skype Online Counselling is also available at $75.00 per hour. Skype Online Counselling may be scheduled after hours without any surcharge.
AFTER HOURS SESSIONS
A surcharge of $15 will apply to appointments that are scheduled after 5:00 pm.
Failure to attend an appointment without providing at least 24 hours notice will incur a $30.00 charge. (Note this fee CANNOT be refunded by Medibank Private, but must be paid by the client).
Should the client or any other professional service that the client is involved in request a written report, a fee will be charged.
